Garnier nutrisse mousse

I very recently changed my hair colour from a strawberry blonde to a very light brown, and to make that journey I wanted to put the nutrisse.mousse to the test. I am very particular about the hair dyes I use, so this was unexplored territory for.me completely!

The directions are very simple, and I followed them exactly. From mixing the colour to application to rinsing. I appreciate that the directions are so simple, so that everyone can understand them and have great colour.

The box says no mess, no stress, no fuss, and that is exactly how my experience was. The clean up was extremely minimal as well. I loved the formula, the mousse made it so much easier to get complete coverage, and since its mousse its %100 non-drip!

I used number 6, light brown and it turned out perfectly according to the colour chart on the side of the box. The colour is very even, yet multi-tonal and lush. I really like how simple garnier makes it to achieve a salon quality, even coverage hair colour at home and for an awesome price.

I would %100 recommend this product to you, I personally urge everyone to pick up this product the next time you decide to colour. Try it out for yourself, you don't have to take my word for it.

Autumn and a late summers stress

<p>I just can't seem to get myself to film right now. I'm job searching, and to me that us the most stressing time for me. I love writing blog posts, I find it very relaxing, it's like instant relief for my stressed out mind (that is always running too fast). So I shall continue to blog and my videos will be maybe a video or two a month until I find a new job.</p>
<p>Summer is coming to an end, and cool fall air is moving in, meaning my favorite season is just around the corner. With apple harvest, apple butter, cider, cookies, oatmeal. Pumpkin and squash, stews, soups, muffins, breads and delicious salty buttery bakes. The delicious cool weather, coats, thick tights, sweaters, etc.
I just LOVE fall!
What are your favorite seasons?

Friday's Lipstick review

Friday morning, at home with my cat. I've done all my chores, and even had time to cozily sip hot cocoa even! I tried to film a makeup tutorial, but nothing was going right; my eyeliner got messed up (the actual felt tip itself), I left my lip liner in the other room, My eyeshadows got mixed up, I just wasn't as prepared as I thought I was. It's just one of those days. Maybe I'll film an OOTD or an in the kitchen segment today, then again, maybe not.

Today's Review: Rag Doll Cosmetics Lipstick in Raspberry Beret.

My favorite makeup products lately have been all about lips! I love the way that a Lipstick can transform you're look from just-woke-up to bedhead chic in a matter of minutes! I've received quite a few Lip Products lately, specifically Lipsticks in my TopBOX and Glossy Box over the past month, I love them all and I have this need to share them with you!

The first criterion for a Lipstick for me is pigmentation and this Rag Doll Cosmetics Lipstick doesn't disappoint! It is a beautiful, deep and creamy raspberry tone. It looks beautiful and makes you appear completely put together, and sophisticated even if you've just rolled out of bed and slapped some mascara, and lip colour on!
Under cool bathroom lighting

The formula for this Lipstick is a nice one, that being said this particular lipstick is matte, so it's very drying (like all matte lip products). But, it has a redeeming quality, when applied over a very slight layer of lip balm it becomes creamy and even more gorgeous! I always put a little bit of lip balm on under my lip colour, to keep my lips from being as dry as the sahara desert.
Under warm hall lighting
Rasberry Beret by Rag Doll is an awesome colour, I love how it brightens up my face with a youthful glow, whilst still keeping with that sophisticated Old Hollywood feel. Everything about this colour is enchanting and due to the unique raspberry colour (that is unlike any other raspberry Lipstick I've ever seen) It has a romantic berry hue mixed with a bright, beautiful green based pink and a deepness that's reminiscent of that classic pin up red colour. I adore this lipstick, and if you are interested by this beautiful shade, feel free to travel on over to ragdollcosmetics.com and check out all their lovely shades!

yet another week.

This week I've been gifted 9 whole hours at work, amounting to about $90.00 this week, my paychecks have been sucking, majorly-This experience has however, kicked my butt into applying for new jobs. I lack essential job search motivation, unless I need a job, I do anything I can to avoid job hunting--I love working, I loathe job hunting. Today I was extended an hour, so that's pretty rad. But working these early mornings, makes filming difficult, to work in to my schedule. I get home between quarter after 10 and noon, I'm also quite exhausted after getting a mere 4 hours of sleep! I come home and I'm so tired, I lack motivation to film, edit or do anything to do with my online persona other than post in my blog; thus, here we are. I'm browsing recipes for supper whilst stifling rather long yawns, and being addicted to Pinterest (follow me here).

I'm about to go add pumpkin spice to everything, you should too; it makes coffee, ice cream, cookies, breads, pasta sauces, and everything else taste more like Autumn.

egad! technical issues!

So for over a week, completely unbeknownst to me, My CatWoman look tutorial hadn't uploaded, I was just thinking that the video wasn't popular as it hadn't garnered many new comments. I came home from FanEXPO'12 and found out that it hadn't uploaded! making me look like a shmuck! I told you I was back with a vengeance, and instead you met another almost two week lull!  I'M SO SORRY! I didn't even realize, it seemed to go through okay, but youtube and my laptop seem to disagree on quite a few different issues these days.

But this week, I have some really rubbish hours at work, so expect videos with cool effects and very detailed blogposts, maybe even an "in the kitchen" video; I love cooking and baking, and food in general, coming from a latvian-canadian girl, I have so many autumny-y-holiday-y recipes that are outta this world scrumptious and I'm just itching to share them with you all, so look forward to that. I need to go check on my new, best great-ginger cat; Sunny.

Bringing home Sunny

Today I woke up and was filled with a sense of excitement. Today is the day we adopt our very first cat together.
We made our way down to the Toronto Humane Society at 11 River street, and went to the second floor to meet the cats. It is a really nice service they offer, these animals; don't get me wrong, but my heart just broke for all these wonderful creatures who need loving, permanent homes. I was an emotional wreck the entire time we were there, every "mew" that was cried, I cried right along with them.
We met so many wonderful cats, then I saw him; a beautiful 3.3 year old boy, with long beautiful ginger fur, captivating eyes and an awesome and sweet disposition. His name: Sunny. The same Sunny that I was admiring a few weeks back when we made the decision to adopt. It was love at first sight.
We filled out our application, met with Heidi (who's in charge of the cat adoptions) and the rest is history!
As I write this Sunny is lounging in the office and I couldn't be happier, if you are thinking about getting a pet of any variety I urge you to look into the humane society or other shelter or adoption programs. There's so many sweet creatures who just need someone to love them.

I've been to see The Dark Knight Rises in theatre's now twice. I've seen it twice, and I must say I loved it even more this time 'round. Anne Hathaway did a spectacular job playing Selina Kyle. I loved: her costume, her attitude, her body language, and most importantly...her makeup! I hope I've done it justice in this tutorial. I present...The Dark Knight Rises; CatWoman.

Finally! some quality time with my blog!

So, work is really slow. We are way overstaffed, and way under sales goals, So I've been gifted yet another garbage week with 7 hours (I'm used to working almost 40!). On the bright side of this though, I finally get some catch up time with my blog here, and my YouTube channel. 5 glorious days of blogging and filming/editing/posting! Can you feel my excitement?
I've got some other stuff to work on too though, so T.T.F.N

OH MY STARS!

I said that I would post every week, but today is Thursday and I haven't posted in almost 2. It was so ridiculously hectic here.
My sisters were supposed to come Wednesday, so I cleaned the house and got all ready, to be informed they were not coming til early Thursday morning. Then in Typical style, they didn't arrive until almost 11 a.m, yet they were hellbent about catching a train we'd never make. I convinced them to have lunch, and then we left at around 12:30 we finally got to union station at about quarter to two, putting us arriving at FanEXPO at about ten after.
The rest of my time at FanEXPO was pretty much more of the same, it was just as hectic and crazy! I bought neat contacts, some awesome prints from artist alley, a cool batman shirt, an amazing doctor who scarf; and saw some awesome people, like Levar Burton from Reading Rainbow (which I grew up on) and Star Trek; The Next Generation. I also went to the Q&A for Nelsan Ellis-Lafayette on True Blood, Tony Todd-of Candy Man Fame, Billy West-The voice of practically every cartoon character ever, John Barrowman from Doctor Who and Torchwood, As well as the face of Marvel, the one and only Stan Lee!

I have to run off now and get ready for work, but I wanted to write so you guys knew that I was alive!

The big bad breakfast monster!

I've been working quite a lot of shipment shifts lately (which begin at 5:30 a.m) and that early in the morning, I know I don't function too well (can't speak for you guys, of course). Morning after Morning, I find myself eating things like poptarts, or bacon--now these are fine in moderation and at a normal time, but You're forgetting that I also snack on my break; and that snack usually isn't the healthiest. This way of eating, puts me at over 500 calories before 9:30 a.m. I've been noticing a few pounds lost since I moved, but it all comes back with these early morning breakfasts.

I've begun eating a banana in the car, and trying to down a 500 ml water bottle each morning, before my shift starts. The little potassium hit does wonders for me, it keeps me alert, awake, and most important for a shipment shift; quick on my feet. The water helps me quite a bit as well with my overall health, I have low blood-pressure already, so I sometimes suffer from mini episodes of kind of a tachycardia-esque situation. My heart beats, so incredibly rapidly, for no reason at all, I have a minor vision loss, and it's usually accompanied by nausea. They usually only last for about 5 minutes--but happens quite a bit more frequently when I get dehydrated.

I'm not saying you can't eat sinfully delicious little things like muffins, cookies and waffles for breakfast; just before 9:30 in the morning, being over 500 calories for me--is a bit ridiculous. I had to pull myself out of that comfort food thing we as humans do when we don't feel too good, don't get me wrong, I cheat occasionally. If there are fresh baked cookies or muffins, I'll grab one once in a blue moon. But not everyday.

I'm back with a Vengeance!

Long Time...I moved last month, So I've been on a hiatus, but it's now almost a month later, and I realize that I have been slacking! I love writing this blog! I guess I get depressed, and then crawl into a cocoon of nothingness, to protect myself I guess, but it's not an excuse, and writing this blog just makes me feel so much better about everything I ever could've been sad about in the first place!

So, I moved from Oshawa (about an hour's drive east of Toronto) to Scarborough (about 20 minutes drive east of Toronto's downtown core) From living in a small 2 bedroom townhouse, with 6 people--to my boyfriend's large, spacious childhood home. We live in the basement, his cousin and her 4 year old daughter live upstairs from us. It was way too good an opportunity to pass up. It's $800/month all inclusive; there's central air, and central vac, everything has been recently renovated, there are 2 rather large bedroom spaces, a walk-in closet in the master, laundry, a rather large bath with a deep tub (for delicious baths), nice kitchen (the perfect size for two or maybe in 6 or 7 years...three!) and a freakin' huge living room! It's way too yummy! It's walking distance from schools and parks, grocery stores, a drug store, public transit, trains; and it's smack dab in the middle of residential bliss! Our backyard is awesome, it's not too big, but it has a rather large patio, a sectioned off grassy area for our niece, and a MONSTROUS sized veg garden! I am in Love with living here. The best part is, since I work for Gap Inc. I just transferred to a new store out here:)

I will start filming all sorts of tutorials, reviews, beauty warriors videos, and my fave...SPFX how-to's. So get ready, because I'm back!

PERL strips update

I told you guys, I'd review the PERL nail strips I got for free from doing a survey for the company before they launched their line of nail strips. I chose the "zebra tud"ones, they are metallic-sparkle silver and black with a zebra design.

They come in this little box that explains what they are, what's in them and that they are a No drying, no smudging, trendy and original way to manicure. They come with 20 strips, an instruction pamphlet and an emery board and orange stick.

The instructions seem simple enough, clean and prep nails: make sure they're clean and dry, shape them to what you desire, and gently buff the surface of the nail and rub hands together to aid in adhesion. Next, choose the strip that best fits your nail, peel off the clear backing from the silver side, apply and rub in smooth, circular motions (the top plastic piece will gently lift off from the friction of the application process). Once adhered, fold the remainder of the strip down over your finger tip, and file GENTLY in a downward motion until strip peels away with ease. Clean up all your loose edges, and you are finished! (the company claims they'll last up to two weeks!)

I followed the directions, and cleaned up my Nails, pushed back my cuticles, and rubbed my hands together to warm them up. I chose the strips I believed would fit my nails properly and applied them, folded over the extra and filed carefully downwards. I ended up with 5 covered nails, that all were from the first time I attempted these. I painted my other "naked" nails with silver, black and violet; and turned out with a neat looking manicure that lasted a few days.

I say a few days, because it literally was a few days. The strips began to lift with general wear and tear that a retail career comes with, I am also a nervous nail-scraping-against-teeth type of gal, and I have to say these PERL strips, were a disappointment to me. I'm skeptical now of other nail strips type things, and honestly don't know if it'll just end up being a rather large disappointment. These strips come in about 17 different patterns and retail for approximately $9.00 including an almost $6.00 shipping and handling fee.

In my honest and humble opinion, these strips just aren't worth the money as they lift way too easy, and a top coat was not recommended, when I tried to put my seche vite top coat over top of a strip, it began to corrode.

You can find These strips HERE

This week's Mani: silver zebra violet and black. &PERL NAIL STRIPS

This week's mani, is brought to you by myself and the folks at PERL. A few months ago, I filled out an online survey for them and they sent me a code for a free box of their nail strips (I did however, pay for shipping).

I chose the sparkly zebra ones, and they arrived within the week. The Instructions were simple enough, even for someone who's never used "nail strips"before. The first step consisted of nail polish remover, using a cuticle stick, filing the nails to the shape you want them, buffing the surface smooth and washing and drying your hands; simple enough right? The next said to rub your hands together to warm them to better manipulate the strips, line the strips up with your nail, apply the strips and rub in circular motion to adhere the strip. fold the rest of the strip; not on your nail down and file it off (do this carefully or you'll ruin your strip!).

Then you're done, and the pamphlet says they'll stay up to two weeks, so I covered 5 nails in total, and painted the others in silver, black and one in violet. I shall update you on the status of my strips.

Gluten intolerance, lactose intolerance and other food sensitivities.

Lately I'very been struggling with food, what was once a beloved bagel with cream cheese, or a double-double with milk; had turned into a stomach distending pathway to incredible pain. About 4 months ago I switched to coffeemate and lactose free milk, but it wasn't until my younger sisters "death-by-chocolate" birthday cake, that I came to the realization that this was way more than a minor lactose issue.
After eating a big 'ol slice I was the only one from the guests who got seriously ill, ill enough to miss work the next day. I decided to research my symptoms and cut out the two biggest culprits from my diet. Lactose and gluten.

These two food issues are diagnosed simultaneously more often than not. Trust me, eating gluten and lactose free is tricky and super expensive. I don't eat anything packaged or boxed unless it's marked specifically: lactose free, gluten free. I use the crock pot an awful lot, and must cook on my days off. Gluten is in everything! Lip balm, shampoo, toothpaste, broth, most sauces, including soy; almost everything!
But every negative has a positive. I'm becoming a much better baker and cook, instead of relying on broth cubes for flavor, I now season everything properly. Instead of always using milk and regular flour, I'm learning to adjust the amounts I use based on the chemical makeup of the ingredients.
I do, already feel tonnes better. Today I'm baking: dark chocolate dipped coconut macaroons, dark chocolate dipped gluten free pretzels, gluten free rice krispie squares and sweet potato muffins. Raw eating is actually quite liberating!

Rib Fest is tonight, wish me luck, I'll most likely need it.
xxstay cheeky

p.s; bel-soy gluten free, lactose free pudding is out of this world! I got the dark chocolate flavor, it's seriously delicious. Same calories as snack pack, but way more flavor! For $3.99 for 4 cups it's worth every penny, if you can find it cheaper, it's an unbelievable bargain!

Back from the Grave

IT LIVES...I am not dead, I have not poofed to another dimension, and sadly; I have not joined the doctor on the TARDIS. I've just been...busy being me. I've had some medical issues, and I found myself exhausted all the time. I've been spending time with my boyfriend, reading, sleeping (a lot) and cooking/baking. I feel like I needed that time off from my busy blogging/youtubing schedule to gain a little perspective. I feel rejuvenated and ready for what life has to throw my way, in a way I haven't felt in a long while.

I am in love with warm weather, and gluten free, wheat free, milk free muffins (some of what I've been baking!). A break was what I needed, but alas; I will be posting much, more often (2 or 3 times a week), more even if I can manage to fit it in my schedule.

Just wanted to let you guys know I'm okay, and to apologize for the lack of posts and videos. On the bright side, I'm hosting another giveaway for June on my YouTube channel! details coming tomorrow!

NOTD; galaxy inspired- torial of sorts

Todays nail is inspired by the breathtaking Vista that is space. It's many wonderful stars and amazing colours have been showing up on the fingers of everyone lately. I'm here to tell you its so simple and may even take less time than your usual mani!

Start with a base of black polish, then make sure its fully dry. You' re going to want to make sure you have a cosmetic sponge and a spray bottle of water handy; as well as a tissue for blotting.
Take a pearly or white base (I used an opal shade first, then my second layer was white) spritz both the corner of the sponge you're using and the tissue, liberally with water. Then paint on (fairly thick) your first colour. Gently blot your application sponge on the tissue before it touches your nails, then create galaxies, leave enough black uncovered- we need stars!

Then just layer your colours, no need to wait for drying in between coats, because were using a damp sponge we are using a very minimal amount of product. Keep creating layers. I used: opal, white, yellow, shimmery green, pink and then I used white with my finest dotting tool (you could use a toothpick) to create tiny stars. Then seal it all up really well with one or two layers of top coat. And Voila! A beautiful, conversation starting galaxy field on your fingers. Have the best weekend everyone!

The Jane Austen Argument

Let's transcend cosmetics and beauty for a minute, and just let me babble on about this awesome f@$king band from Australia for a moment. They are the Jane Austen Argument (@theJAargument on the Twitter). Forgive me for Stealing from their website (http://thejaneaustenargument.net) but, their Bio describes them perfectly
"The Jane Austen Argument are a Melbourne-based indie cabaret duo with overtones of anti-folk and punk love. They write raw ballads with sharp tongues and perform with chaotic abandon."
They've won Best Cabaret at the Adelaide Fringe Festival for the past 2 years got honourable mentions from fine publications such as Australian Stage and Three Weeks

They are the two of the most talented singer/sonwriter/composers/performers I've ever had the pleasure to listen to and they know Amanda F#$ing Palmer, and they are Melbourne's best IMHO, but my opinion is very skewed-I am in love with Tom's amazing, warm, full bodied voice.

watch THIS VIDEO of them being totally super awesome at Camperdown Park, in Sydney. This will prove how totally frickin amazing they are, if you don't believe me already!

Some of the things on their resume of rad include:
  • hosting #twitnic's
  • playing *house gigs, *in actual houses
  • and collaborating with the likes of Amanda F#$king Palmer and Neil Gaiman, just to name a few.
THESE GUYS ARE AWESOME! and they just launched their Album Somewhere under the Rainbow so go check it out on their site and purchase it if you love it as much as I do.

April topbox! 2012

I recieved my April topbox yesterday! The 11th of april (the perfect time to get a monthly beauty box)
and in honor of Earth Month the patented tube of wonder is covered with non other than a beauty tools print on a craft paper covering, the text reads "Made of 100% recycled materials."

When you Open up the tube, the same purple tissue and crepe are inside, along with the nice cards to explain what's inside, as well as why topbox loves Earth Day! This month my box came with 5 samples.  Principessa Dry Shampoo-for Darker Shades, a Bella Pella Body Lotion in the scent Tropical Flowers, A sample of Benefit's The POREfessional, A MISA Nail Lacquer in the shade Polka-Dot Bikini, and finally a mini sample of Cargo's blu_ray powder.

Principessa Notte Breeze Dry Shampoo is a "silky, multi-use powder that is a 'refreshing treat', naturally talc free and designed to keep you 'shower fresh' all day, as well as smelling that way too with the insolina fragrance." "Sprinkle into your hair to absorb excess oils, product and create gorgeous body and volume! it magically blends roots and can extend blowouts too! Infused with a soft scent to leave you smelling as fresh as you look."
:IMHO: it smells really fresh, it has a super silky consistency, as well as volume boosting and texturizing properties--which I love! Also it is a delicious caramel color, I can't wait to test this one! My size is 30g and the full size-125g retails for $24.00CAD.

Next, The Bella Pella Body Lotion in the scent Tropical Flowers. They suggest you "enjoy the exotic scent of the South Pacific flowers with this lightweight, non greasy lotion. Enriched with avocado oil, jojoba oil and shea butter".
:IMHO: it smells awesome, and moisturizes my skin, but my skin is extremely dry so I need to reapply every hour or so. I like that the first ingredient is water, and as far as scented moisturizers go, this one's great! My sample is 30ml, the full size-175ml retails for $15.95CAD.

Benefit-The POREfessional, claims to minimize the appearance of fine lines and pores to create picture perfect smooth skin. Benefit directs you to apply this on to moisturized skin, focus on problem areas and pat then blend. It works like wall paste or spackle, in that it's texture is thin but when applied fills in pores and lines with such ease, it's also likened to butter.
:IMHO: I love how smoothy-smooth-smoothy it feels, and looks! I also love how it smells, nothing with a touch of honey! The full review will be coming your way soon guys! My size is 7.5ml The full size-22ml retails for $34.00CAD

Misa Nail Lacquer in Polka-Dot Bikini is a goregous pale peachy-pink pearl varnish. They Claim to have nano silver particles in their mix that reduces fading and chipping "for optimal shine"
:IMHO: I love the formula, it's thick enough; without being clumpy. I love the high shine of the pearl, It applies fairly even and is quick drying. Look forward to it being featured in a near future NOTD post! Mine is the full size-15ml retailing for $8.99CAD, also it came with a 20%off coupon for my next purchase of Misa varnish.

Lastly, a micro-mini sample of CARGO blu_ray pressed powder, I say micro-mini because it's literally on a 2"x2"square card! It was created especially for HD film use, the "High Tech" ingredients claim to hide lines, and reduce redness.
:IMHO: I don't feel like it reduced my redness anymore than my foundation and concealer do, I feel like it camouflaged my pores mainly because it filled them with powder, I like the lightweight of it--however, \I do feel like it congests pores, and can lead to some pretty nasty breakouts! I have no idea what this retails for or what other sizes it comes in as this is a sponsored product, and not obtained for the purpose of topbox, but to advertise for CARGO.

NOTD! chocolates and lilacs

This nail look consists if the colour coffee and cream from Quo by ORLY and tickled pink from mark.

I love these shades together the Quo is cool enough to create that awesome spring feeling, while the lilac is just a stunning colour. I painted my ring and index nails with the lilac; to serve as the accent nails. I then applied polka dots with the mark. shade on top of the Quo and opposite dots on the lilac nails, creating a very egg-squisite mani.

What do you think?

Glossy Box for March 2012

I finally got my Glossy Box for March on the last possible day it could arrive within the month, Friday March 30th. I was pretty upset that it came so late, but I have to say; I love it! It came with some really nice samples, and a few full size things. It costs about $15.00 CAD per month, which is kind of pricey considering TopBox also comes with the same number of samples and is only $10.00 CAD. The Box is so nice, It's a beautiful powder pink, with the GlossyBox emblem in black. The inside of the Box, is black with GlossyBox emblem's in powder pink, very sophisticated-feels like I'm getting a birthday or anniversary gift.

It comes wrapped in a powder pink grosgrain ribbon with a cute GlossyBox seal sticker. When you untie the ribbon and open the tissue you're greeted with a beautiful flat back paper envelope that is packed with all the info on the products inside and their (Glossy's) greetings card. My Box came packaged like this, how freakin' adorable right?
There is...a Pandora's box blush, a Bailey cosmetics lipgloss, a Sebastien Professional hairspray, an evian brumisateur, and an Aveeno hand and body cream.

PANDORA'S Blush in St. Tropez is a mauvey matte mid pink, that serves a multiseasonal purpose. PANDORA is a company whom designed their products with the makeup artist in mind, coming out with highly pigmented, long lasting colours, that are very easy to de-pot/add to a magnetic palette.  Mine is full size, and it retails for $18.00 CAD. I have to say I've had this blusher not even a week, and I use it everyday! It's so pigmented and long lasting, and it's a beautiful springy hue. I recommend this company to blush enthusiasts or anyone who loves quality cosmetics.

Bailey cosmetics Fresh Lip Gloss in Berry, is a neat raspberry/blackberry mix hue, with a neat multi dimensional shimmer. It is a lovely colour, but I just don't like many lipglosses. I have long hair, that I wear down quite a bit and my hair always seems to get blown across my lips, causing my hair to get all gooped and sticky, and my face gets streaked with gloss! I find very annoying and frustrating, that said This particular gloss seems to have no scent or taste, which in this case, it being so dark; I would want it to smell/taste. The company claims ït is the perfect colour accent for women who want a sheer bump of colour to enhance their pout. Mine is the full size, 8g it retails for $28.00 CAD. This product comes from Canadian Fashion Designer Brian Bailey's line of cosmetics, that promise a "polished look in under 5 minutes" I love Mr. Bailey's designs, just not his lip gloss, he shouldn't worry, I'm hard to please on the lip gloss front!

Sebastien Professional RE-SHAPER brushable strong hold hairspray is probably one of my favorite products in this month's GlossyBox. It has amazing strength, while still keeping your hair soft and not feeling like there is a tonne of product in it, When I pomp, set, or v-roll my hair, I need lots of hairspray to tame the flyaways, and this does the job purrrrrrrrrrrfectly! It has amazing hold and humidity protection which is something awesome for my extremely fine but super thick, over-processed, prone to frizz-ies and flyaways, colour treated hair! Sebastien Professional is a Salon Exclusive brand, Mine is a trial size, 43g that retails for $19.95 CAD! This hairspray is an extremely luxurious purchase, that is worth every single penny!

The evian Brumisateur facial spray moisturizes by hydrating the outer layers of skin, it tones and refreshes dull skin, and even helps to fix makeup! I love this product, and I didn't think that I would-My initial reaction to it was I felt it was "hokey" and "cheap". After one use, I was hooked, it feels so refreshing and cool on your face, I love the brighter complexion it gives me! I despise the taste of evian water, it tastes strange and far too metallic for me (a girl who likes her spring water) but the Brumisateur is an awesome product! Mine is the smallest you can buy, 50g for $7.00 CAD but oh-so-worth it, I'd even pay more for this product--I love it so much!

Aveeno \Daily moisturizing Lotion is another product received in the March GlossyBox. It contains rich emolients and natural colloidal oatmeal, it is non-comedogenic (although if your skin is extremely sensitive like mine, do not use this on your face), it absorbs quickly, and contains no added fragrance. It claims to aid in chapping and scaling that usually comes from dry skin and cold weather, It moisturizes for 24hours, and leaves hands looking healthier. It holds up it's end of the bargain; It does really hydrate skin, and super moisturize, I love Aveeno hand creams, though they are quite costly as hand creams go, they are oh-so-worth it! I really like this one. it is 71 ml, where as 354 ml which I believe to be the full size, retails for $11.99 CAD.

Lastly they threw in a sample pouch of ALGEMARIN Foam Bath. It is meant to give your skin a rejuvenated glow previously only available from "sea bathing" or hydrotherapy. My sample pouch contains 15ml, and 30ml retails for $3.99 CAD 500ml for $17.99 CAD and 750ml for $23.95 CAD.

That was my GlossyBox for March 2012. I hope this post was intriguing for you all:)

March Favorites, and a product I LOATHE!

I can't believe it's the end of \march already, time has just flown by! My favorites for this month consist of Nail varnish, lip products, palettes, and a time piece! So read along with my detailed analysis of all!

My first Favorite for this month is the mark. trend mini nail lacquer's that I recieved in my March TopBox! They are full size, and I'm so thankful because I absolutely love them, they are tickled pink, a beautiful vibrant lilac and violet daze a shimmery, deep blue-violet colour. They are perfect colours for Spring time, tickled pink is an insanely vibrant and beautiful "thrilling lilac", while violet daze is a very sophisticated deep, deep violet shimmer perfect for a night on the town!

My next favorite is my Nicole by O.P.I Nail varnish in Rainbow in the S-Kylie. Thats right! It's from the Kardashian collection and I don't wanna hear about it; nor do I regret the purchase! It's a beautiful blend of different cuts and sizes of Pastelly Rainbow glitter, It has quite a dazzling effect! I love it over Zoya-JO and Sally Hansen-White Out. It's just so pretty, it brings out the little girl in me, and I couldn't be happier:)

Next Up is my Viva Glam Nicki lipstick from Nicki Minaj and MAC Viva Glam! It is a beautiful bold yellow pink, that simply demands attention from everyone who looks your way. I love wearing it, Yes it's intense, but it's also, ultra wearable. Just go neutral with your eye and cheek makeup, and a bold lip does not look out of place in the slightest! I love the Viva Glam line because although the colours are limited edition, they are available for a full year before they're gone, giving you some time to stock up! If you have a chance to get your paws on this one, grab it; before it's gone!

Next is my LORAC Multi Platinum Eye/Cheek Palette! It has some of the best quality, super soft, blendable, velvety shadows and blush I have ever had the pleasure of working with. There is a soft, shimmery cream, a warm copper bronze shimmer, a very soft russian blue-greyed with a hint of mauve shimmer shadow, a very sweet cerulean shimmer, a slate, charcoal shimmer, and a matte black with silver micro glitter. The blush is a wonderful apricot, golden petal:perfect for summer and sun. It is in this amazing palette, the interior covered in an iridescent silver sparkly fabric; this palette is magnetized, and the outside is covered in a wonderful plasticy metallic blackened silver faux snake skin, with a metal LORAC logo. I bought this for only $15.00, when it usually retails for $38.00! what a steal, but even if it's not on sale definitely pick it up, you'll love the luxe quality of this palette.

The Other Palette in my favorites this month is the Midnight Cowboy Palette from Urban Decay! Many of you know that I have been lusting after this palette since it debuted forever ago! I finally got my hands on it, courtesy of my darling Aunt who so sweetly ordered it to hers, and then sent it to me. The palette, isn't as large as the LORAC one, but it's perfect for on the go! It features four shadows: Midnight Cowboy-a pinky sand color  with lots of micro glitter, Midnight \cowboy Rides Again-a very golden mocha color with lots of gold micro glitter, Midnight Cowgirl-a golden sand with golden micro glitter and Romp-a super luxe deep purple shimmer, that is so multifaceted it will blow your mind! It also comes with a 24/7 glide on eye pencil in Whiskey-a deep warm brown and a full size Lip Junkie gloss in Midnight Cowboy, a nude shimmer-that both smells and tastes divine!

SURPRISE! I CAN'T BELIEVE I'VE NEVER INCLUDED THIS BEFORE My FOSSIL Watch, is something I love so deeply, I never thought I'd have such an immense love for an inanimate object other than my teddy bear, but alas, Teddy-you've been replaced! This watch is so elegant in it's design with the CZ's framing the watch face, and the few stones set on the face in place of 12, 3, 6 and 9 markers. The band is a beautiful, soft, luxurious leather that I love, it feels so nice on my wrist, and I have grown to depend on it. It has gotten to the point that if \I forget my watch my day is shot, I feel naked, and I'm late for everything! This watch was given to me by my boyfriend of 6'n-a-bit years for our latest anniversary, and it is amazing! I couldn't live without my watch!

NOW FOR WHAT YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR! THE LOATHE: Maybelline Super Stay 24 Hour Lip Wear. I absolutely dislike this product; I purchased it because I had received a $1.00 off coupon for Maybelline Super Stay products. I tested out their 14 hour wear lipstick, and liked that, nice formulation, good colour, etc. You couldn't test the 24 Hour Lip Wear's out due to hygenic reasons and packaging, but I figured that I'd go with the 24 Hour one as opposed to the lipstick, because I wanted to try something I don't necessarily gravitate to/own any of and, I love a similar product from Cover Girl so I thought I'd give this product a whirl and test it out. It is horrible; the packaging looks okay, but since there are 2 parts to this product, the colour and the balm, they are located at either end. My issue with the packaging is the locking mechanism for the balm, it's "click" is barely audible, and it pops open in my purse every chance it got! ( I say "got"not "gets"because I jumped at the first chance to return this product).
Now the actual product itself; The colours are all insanely gorgeous, I bought So Pearly Pink, a very pale, pearlescent pink shade-that in-a-perfect-world would be perfect for spring! The colour part of the formulation dries out your lips so much that the moisturizing balm doesn't even help, it also has a tendancy to glob up in the fine lines of your lips, not to mention that it didn't even pass the 2 hour mark on my lips! Yes the colour stays put, but it dried out my lips so badly that I was constantly wetting them in a desperate attempt to rehydrate, it failed miserably b.t.w This product may work well for some of you, and if it has I'd love to hear about it, but for us dry lipped gals (My Mum also tried this product), this one is a giant dud!

hope you enjoyed

Where Have I BEEN? "I'll tell you" and Beauty Warriors

I have been…under a rock; or perhaps hiding in a dark place; or even doing a peace mission in a third world country—ANYWAY, this post feels like a long time no write post. So without further ado; The Post.

Beauty Warriors is a group of Beauty enthusiasts from YouTube whom separately have their own channels, but simultaneously; once a month they are fearless makeup warriors! They review, tutor, and talk about, some of their most favorite, loathed, and best; beauty products and looks. I am honoured and feel so privileged to be one of these women. The other warriors, are beautiful, funny, insightful, intellectual, and so down to earth! They are all wonderful women.

First off our lovely Beauty Warriors Channel-where youll find all the Warriors videos, and our special Beauty Warriors Blog-where you'll find our calendar of what we're reviewing/doing and when we're doing it!

Firstly, the reason I joined the BW, Miss Cookie Farrer!  Cookiefarrer is her user name on YouTube. She made a Bob Ross makeup video that I adored; I had so much fun with that video—I must’ve watched it at least a dozen times! She is so down to earth, nice and genuine, and extremely creative. Her tutorial series focussing on breaking the conventional beauty rules, is a must watch for any up and comers on YT or for anyone in general. She is the first YouTube-r I admire, and also have the pleasure of knowing.

FibercrazedBeauty on YT is another reason that I feel blessed to be considered one of this group! She is so cool, and so poignant and on the pulse of everything that’s going on, it almost seems like she’s clairvoyant! I have been subscribed to her on a few of my past username’s and have watched her for years! She is totally Rad, and I love how much fun she is.

AuttyW on YouTube and on Twitter is another member of the Beauty Warriors whom I adore. She is hilarious, and so sweet—it comes across in her awesome videos, She also, coincidentally writes the BeautyWarriors blog!

TwizziesPlace on YT or twizziebs on twitter is a pretty rad chick, we’re both huge into slasher flicks, and gore culture, she’s also pretty talented with a cosmetics brush!  I’ve also watched her videos for quite some time now.

LadyCocoSea1 on YT is such a darling! She is so sweet, gentle and very kind, She did a Video a Day series every day for 410 days! how incredible is that! And, that's not all, throughout her 410 V.A.D video's she held my attention they didn't get boring or old or anything, they were all fun to watch!

Sabine a.k.a Bieneke on twitter or BlushBrush87 on YT is another warrior. She lives in the Netherlands, which is in itself pretty darn cool; IMHO. Her videos are also pretty darn creative, and her accent is awesome! I’m glad to know her.

TriciaFitz88 is our newest warrior, and a pretty cool chick! She has great taste in makeup, her tutorials are adorable! It’s all because of her super cute southern-y accent. Her colour sensibility is outta-this-world and she is just a bundle of fun.

I am so glad to know all of these remarkable women, I hope you check them out; they are so worth itJ

Topbox for March!

My Newest Video is on Topbox for the month of March! It's also, coincidentally my first Topbox ever!
Topbox is a Canadian Monthly Subscription Beauty Box. It is $10.00 CAD per month; You don't choose a one month, three month, or yearly subscription; Topbox renews each month, and you can cancel at any time.

My Top Box for March looked like this------------>
It came with a cute paper tape label, that I just had to keep! and it was all wrapped up in Kraft Paper, that brown, card-like, package paper. Unwrapped it's an adorable reusable tube, wrapped in a delightful wall-paper esque Pseudo-Victorian print in Violet.

Inside my March Topbox I found a cute square note card that reads

"It's been half a year! And we couldn't have done it without you. (Thank you)

In addition to your Topbox of 4 deluxe samples, we have included a 5th bonus sample from a new everyday brand that we love as well.

Here's to Discovering more beauty,

xoxo
Topbox"

Inside my Topbox, there is a note card detailing exactly what the products intended use, the full size amount and price.

The first sample I pulled out was REDKEN Color Extend shampoo and conditioner, each at 10 ml, and there were two of each! I received 40 ml of REDKEN product for about $2.00. It claims to add moisture, volume, strength, softness and daily protection to your hair--I can't wait! I love high end hair products! especially for cheap! The full size shampoo contains 300 ml and retails at $15.00; The full size conditioner contains 250 ml and it retails for $17.00!

The second product I fished out was the Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes. Now if you follow PunkChyaz on YouTube or her blog, then you've heard nothing but wonderful things about Simple! Chyaz is the Simple Spokeswoman; and her skin is glorious! The blurb reads "The UK's #1 Skincare range is now here. Pro-Vitamin B5 enriched facial wipes refresh your skin with moisture and also remove waterproof mascara" how cool is that? The full size has 25 wipes and goes for $10.99. These smell amazing by the way, just nice and kind of aloe-y.

Next I pulled out the mark. Gloss Gorgeous Stay On Lip Stain in Frilly Frou Frou. It is a gorgeous mango colour with a golden shimmer; it goes on like a delicious, sweet/minty tasting gloss that smells the same, and wears to a full-bodied stain-that claims to last hours and hours! I can vouch for that, as I've worn this product all day and needed to reapply it just a few times throughout. This is one of the full size samples (2.7 ml) and it comes in a clicky-pen like brush applicator. I usually have huge problems with products in these containers right from the get-go, but thus far not-a-one. This retails for $12.00 and I will most likely be purchasing this product again!

The next thing I grabbed from the box was the mark. Nailed It Trend Mini Lacquers in Violet Daze and Tickled Pink, described as a shocking purple and a thrilling lilac; these colour's are very appropriate for spring, and are "great for on-the-go" These are the other full size sample in the box, which is a tad disappointing--due to the fact that mark. is the Avon off-shoot, and it's fairly cost effective, compared to the other brands Topbox carries such as Benefit and Yves Saint Laurent--But, I digress. These are still super-duper cute, and I can't wait to use them! These retail for $8.00.

Lastly, but not least-ly! was the MAKE UP FOR EVER Smoky Lash in Extra Black-which is exclusive to SEPHORA. The Card says..."Smoky Lash's formula is rich in ultra-fine mineral pigments to create the perfect smoky look. It's ultra-wide and dense new generation brush holds a maximum amount of product for instant spectacular lashes. The Brush on this is super scrumptious, it holds so much product because of it's thickness. I cannot wait to try it out, I've heard both positives and negatives about this particular mascara; The full size (7ml) sells for $24.00 my sample is 3ml and I feel like that's the perfect amount of mascara; for a girl who owns and uses more than 20 full size mascaras--they don't have a very long shelf life, 3 months, tops! So it seems silly to me to package over 3 or 4 ml in a mascara tube, especially one that costs $24.00. I won't pay that much for something that lasts as little as 3 months, IMHO!

In My Humble Opinion (IMHO) Topbox is a really neat service, it's fully customize-able, unlike some other boxes; it contains a mixture of deluxe hair, skin care and cosmetic products. I shant be cancelling my subscription any time soon:)

What do you think about Topbox? what monthly beauty boxes do you subscribe to?
